While in overlord the main protagonist decided to create a new world in the game because he has no reason to return to the reality for he has no friends nor family and reason to continue the boring life. The difference between these anime are the plots. However, in Overlord the main protagonist is the only current known player who's stuck while in log horizon many players who were logged on at the time was transported into the game. These 2 anime has similar situation in which both the protagonist and others are stuck in a rpg game with no knowledge on returning to the real world.
#Overlord anime characters game series
It's an easy series to sit back and relax to, and enjoy an adorable little slime kick ass and lead a village to greatness. Tensei Slime has all of the politics, comedy and badass moments of Overlord, with none of the torture, sadism or purposely unlikable characters. While in Overlord, Ainz chooses to use this power to take over the world, Rimuru Tempest is an optimistic, compassionate guy who can't say no when he's asked for help. Inevitably, that kind of combat power grants you political power, and both MC's become leaders of a group that follows them religiously (albeit in very different ways). As a result, the conflicts in both series have to come largely from something other than fight scenes, since we all know who will win the vast majority of the time instead, both series focus on what one would do if they had that kind of power. In both series, the main character is purposely made to be extremely overpowered, to the point of having little to nothing that poses an actual threat to them. "Tensei Slime is just Overlord on a Lawful Good playthrough." >Momonga is an overbearing undead skeleton while Rimuru is a cute harmless looking slime. >The New World in Overlord is more game-like (levels and such) than the world in TenSura >TenSura protagonist dies in his old world whereas Overlord protagonist (most likely) does not. >Momonga is overpowered from the start and has no power growth, whereas Rimuru is overpowered only in his vicinity and has to grow to keep up with increasingly powerful enemies. >Rimuru prioritizes friendship and good ties more than overpowering new acquaintances. >Overlord is more dark themed while TenSura is more light, with occasional dark theme spikes. >Both of them unknowingly/accidentally end up doing incredible things. >Both have the potential and ability to create a harem, but refrain from doing so for valid and personal reasons. >Both are good natured people but take extreme action when needed. >Both of them build a country from scratch. (Both of them are also named Satoru lol) Both are also virgins who never had a girlfriend.
